Ross McCormack is a striker who played at Fulham from 2014 until 2016. Mainly as a centre forward but also capable of playing as a winger, Ross was signed in the club's first season back in the Championship after relegation in 2013-14. A Scottish international, he was signed for around £7 million rising to a two-figure sum from Leeds. After two seasons at Fulham, he was sold to Aston Villa for £12 million in August 2016 after reputedly pushing for a move away from Craven Cottage.

Career[]

Before Fulham[]

Fulham (2014-2016)[]

Amid an increasing amount of speculation, Ross' signature with Fulham was confirmed on 8 July 2014, signing for a fee of around £7 million which could rise into a two-figure sum - this was wrongly reported in virtually all media outlets as an £11 million up front. Ross made his debut in a 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town on the opening day of the season. The following week, manager Felix Magath had stated to the media that he thought Ross was unfit and not quite up to speed with the rest of the squad, having missed out on a proper pre-season.

His first goal came on 26 August 2014 away at Brentford in a League Cup match during a 1-0 victory, with his first league goals coming in Felix Magath's last match in charge, a 5-3 defeat away to Nottingham Forest as he scored a brace. Ross was sent off on 1 November against Wigan after lashing out for a second bookable offence, but returned from suspension a week later as he scored a thunderous strike to seal a 3-1 win against Huddersfield in man of the match performance.

He scored a first half hat-trick in Fulham's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in January 2015 and another in the penultimate game of the season at home to Middlesbrough in a 4-3 victory at the end of April.

After Fulham[]

Ross was signed by Aston Villa on 4 August 2016 for a reported £12 million.
