Kostas Mitroglou was a striker with Fulham from 2014 until 2016. He signed on deadline day in January 2014 for a reported fee of £12.4 million, making him the clubs record transfer fee paid for a player. A Greek international, he made his name at Olympiakos where he scored 62 goals in 148 appearances. Unfortunately, things did not work out for neither Kostas or the club and it resulted in him making only three appearances during 2013-14, one pre-season friendly in 2014-15 and another in 2015-16. For this reason he has gone down in Fulham's history books as one of the worst signings in the clubs history.

CareerEdit

Before FulhamEdit

Fulham (2014-2016)Edit

Fulham signed Kostas on deadline day January 2014 on an undisclosed fee, reported to be around £12.4 million making him the clubs record transfer at the time. Despite West Ham making late moves to try and sign him, he signed a four-and-a-half contract at Motspur Park. This came as a surprise to many given Fulham's precarious position above the relegation zone.

After a torrid time at the club with injuries and the few performances he did make being under par, Kostas was loaned out for the 2014-15 season to his former club Olympiakos where he performed admirably and returned to his former goalscoring self.

He spent pre-season 2015-16 with Fulham, taking part in a friendly match against Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage, in whch he came on for the last 20 minutes. Despite this cameo appearance, he was shipped out on loan for the season once more, this time to Portuguese side Benfica.

The club announced that Kostas had been sold to Benfica on a permanent deal on 18 May 2016, for around £6 million.
