  • Fulham only fielded 10 men in bizarre circumstances - Sammy Aylott, Tom Shrimpton and Alec Frame failed to turn up as they went to the wrong ground so Herbert Jackson who was at the ground as a spectator played in his normal clothes!
  • To make matters worse, Fulham had Fred Kingsbury, John Cox and Henry Shrimpton injured and had to leave the field, meaning they finished the match with just 8 men on the pitch, with club treasurer Arthur Thomas taking to the field at half time - again in normal clothes!
  • Fulham got revenge the following season when the beat Forest Swifts 9-0 on the opening league match of the season
