Overview
The 1903-04 season was Fulham 's 6th professional season and 1st season playing first-class football, in the Southern League Division One (equivalent to today's League One). It was all in all a reasonably succesful season, with the team achieving a mid-table finish and a great cup run in the FA Cup ; albeit exiting in the 1st round (then the last 32) to Woolwich Arsenal , it had taken Fulham 7 qualifying victories to get there. Many big-name signings were made in the summer, most notable of these was goalkeeper Jack Fryer from Derby County , who was to be club captain. It was virtually a completely different team from those that had featured in 1902-03 , with only Tommy Meade and William Porter survivors from that previous season.
